Who was Esther?

If you have never read the account of Queen Esther in the Bible, you are in for a treat. So many hidden treasures wait in the storyline rich in intrigue, love, betrayal, murder plots, and ultimately ends in victory of those least likely to win.

I won’t spoil the story. You will have to read it for yourself. It has been my favorite story since I was 12 years old and awakened in the middle of the night by a violent storm that terrified me so much, I ran into my parent’s room and got in bed with my mother.

She began to tell me the story of the girl who would become Queen and save her people through her wisdom, courage, and grace. I vowed to myself I would do everything I could to become like Esther, or her real name- Hadassah. The hidden truth of WHO she was. God’s chosen… for such a time as this.

She became a symbol of what a woman could be in her sphere of influence and a model of grace and beauty that comes from within. I am on a journey and invite all the other Esthers out there to join me in becoming the women who were born for “such a time as this.”
